Chrysler Repair: 98 Sebring Convertable Roof Leak, rubber flap, motor mechanism

Question
My Sebring convertable is leaking water into the right rear body panel.  I can hear it sloshing around.

1) How can I drain it out?

2) What needs to be replaced to keep more water from getting in?

I was wondering if water is supposed to drain through and something has gotten clogged or if I have a leaking seal around the roof somewhere.

Water is not getting inside the car's cabin.

Answer
Hi John,
Yes there is a drain system, rather than an attempt to keep water out of the body what happens is that the water that leaks in around the side and rear of the top is collected in the 'well' and routed to drain holes located on the underside of the body on each side somewhere between the rear wheel housing and the door opening, usually on a body seam. At least that is how it works on the earlier Lebaron converts.
there is usually a rubber flap over the hole so just look around under there on both sides for these flaps and clean out the drain holes. It is good to get rid of that water so the rear 1/4 window motor/mechanism don't get submerged. Let it dry out before trying the window motors again.
