Chrysler Repair: Sealed headlight beams, chrysler town and country, drill holes

Question
Water is getting inside my headlights. To a point
where it blew out the light bulbs.
A mechanic drilled tiny holes in the lights and it drained out the water.
Now condensation seems to cling to the inside of the beam.
Is this correct or should new sealed beams be installed.
It is a Chrysler Town and Country LXI

Answer
Hi Daniel,
I don't have any experience with these units but just from what you say it seems to me that if you allow moist air or water to get into the assembly you will either have frank water or condensation within it. I would suggest sealing the drill holes with clear epoxy or cyanoacrylate and then look carefully for other reasons that water got inside in the first place. Are there gaskets you could replace at the bulb socket fittings? Are there cracks in the unit? These units are quite expensive so I would be inclined to try and improve the seals on the ones you have in hand.
