I am having a problem with my 98 Chrysler Sebring Coupe V6.The car is cutting off when I either slow down or make turns or at a low idle. I have recently changed all of the plugs, the wires, distributor  and rotor cap. The car is still cutting off. I had the battery checked and it is good. I was told that I had a bad regulator but the charge from the regulator at running speed is producing 13.8v. Does this sounds like the throttle body needs cleaning or any suggestions and if so is it a do it yourself job. I tested the regulator by taking off the positive end of the battery and the car did cut off but I can drive the car over 80miles a day to and from work and the car seems like it is not running off the battery.

hello
did you change the gas filter when you did the tune up if not try that and i would get a diagnostic test to see what is going on after you change the gas filter if the same problems happens again pete

Dear Pete I did get a diagnostic test and Firestone told me that the car has a rapid misfire. They recommended the tune up. I will try to change the gas filter. What does rapid misfire means.

Answer
hello again
rapid fire means the plugs are miss fireing you are geting to much spark from some of the plugs and not anough spark from the others.

The only way is of to day is a diagnostic test this way you can be sure of what the problem is .

Smart move on your part because would have ben spending a lot of money guessing . And i do not like guessing either i would not have a shop . Pete
