Chrysler Repair: Eagle Talon, auto transmissions, eagle talon

Question
The car has been towed to a transmission shop for an estimate of damage and price.  The eighth no of the VIN is U  I would like to keep this car if it is at all feasible.  As much as I like it I don't want to keep repairing it.  I did track down some used parts prices.  Caveman auto parts in the US wants $250.00 plus shipping, for the transmission assembly which may keep the repair down.  Minimum installation here is $500.00 without complications.  (clutch etc)  I will know better what is wrong when the estimate comes in.  Keep you posted.  Many thanks   Cheryl

Answer
Cheryl, keep in mind that "most" transmission shops replace
the bbad unit with a re-built one on the shelf and.99%of
there work comes from auto transmissions.I think at one time I was the only tech. in 100q. miles that could repair
a standerd trany. Most of the work I have done, two people
before me "fixed" the problem !!A young man who thinks
he knows alot, most of the time gives the good old guys like
me a bad name. I feel bad for people when there car has to go to the shop. I hope this helps. thankyou  tm.
