Chrysler Repair: Eagle Talon, chrysler dealer, transmission area

Question
-------------------------

Thank you for taking the time to respond.  A Chrysler dealer rebuilt the motor, so it was done professionally for $2500.00   I don't know the details of the work.  There was no leaking of fluid from the transmission area, or I would have noticed it in the driveway.  The transfer case was recalled because it was known to seize up and lock up the wheels, like what happened to me.  If it was worked on or inspected in 1999 the problem should have been resolved I would think.  The estimate for repair is roughly $2,000. - $3,000.  I was asked by the mechanic how tight the shifter was to get an idea of the seriousness of the damage.  The car has been well maintained, I just don't know if a recall repair or inspection should resolve the problem, regardless of the time frame.

Answer
the car is not worth that money!!I bet you could get a complete used trans. for little money! when the head on the engine blowes most people drag them into the junk yard,so there should be plenty to choose from.A local trans. shop should do the whole thing for under 700$What do they want to repair or replace ?please answer all my past questions&include the 8th letter or number in the vin.
