Chrysler Repair: code 37, torque converter clutch, dodge spirit

I have a 1990 Dodge Spirit 4dr sedan 4 cylinder non turbo.I have been told a 100 different things about this code.  I am now so confused to get it fixed...some say i need a new transmission...some say its a computer chip in the sbec some say its a torque converter clutch selonoid (sp), which say its the same as the trasmission kickdown switch.  All i know is this code comes up and i get the problem at a stop, it seems to want to die out sometimes, or when driving it noses out...then comes back to the speed...commonly it acts up at stop signs and such.  Boy i really need some help and fast.

this is a bad compuiter the compuiter shifts the car thire is a main compuiter for the car ans a another compuiter for the tranny . have it changed and you will be fine dont let pelople confuse u any more . sorry they can do this many times mech. quess and it is not fair to a  person when they are paying thire good money . good luck to u pete
