Classic/Antique Car Repair: Last Chance Garage!

Question
Hello, Bruce!

As a kid in the 1980s, and a burgeoning car nut, I used to really enjoy your show, "Last Chance Garage" on PBS. I was talking to my dad about it tonight.

To my dismay, LCG is not available on DVD! Are there any plans to release the old shows? It's a shame for both old timers and younger car folks not to be able to view what I remember being a really great show!

Amazon has 12 copies left (VHS format, no less) of your "20 Do-It-Yourself Repairs" recording.  I was really hoping to find episodes of the show. LCG isn't even on youtube!

Thank you,

Matt Bishop

Answer
Thanks for the kind words about LCG. Sadly to say there are no master copies of the shows as the show going off the air had more to do with internal politics at PBS than anything else. I do not have copies of the show as they were withheld from me when I separated from PBS. As far as I know there are no plans to do anything with a re release of the show. The show was basically morphed into Two Guy Garage. My separation fro PBS had several factor but one was that I would not endorse products especially if they were not what I considered quality and offered true value. To any of the car shows on the air today are nothing more than infomercials for products. I left that entire arena and went back to teaching vocational school auto shop. I am now semi retired in Florida doing some writing, doing pre purchase inspections, and some carburetor bench rebuilding. Again thanks for the kind words.
