Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1949 Packard Super Touring Sedan Flathead straight 8 cylinder firing order, firing order, straight 8

The wires on my distributor came loose and I can't figure our the firing order for my 1949 PAckard Straight 8 flathead 288,
Please help!

Hello Jose,

Firing order is 1-6-2-5-8-3-7-4 where #1 cylinder is indexed to the 7:00 position on the distributor cap as you face the engine.

Firing order is 1-6-2-5-8-3-7-4. Distributor rotates CCW and here is a section of wiring diagram showing distributor wire connections (if dist is indexed per service manual) with #1 at recommended spot per timing marks.
