Classic/Antique Car Repair: no electric power, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce

I have a 73 mg midget, it had been stored for seven years. I cleaned fuel tank new gas lines, rebuilt carbs. I got it started, checked it out by driving forward and reverse in driveway, checking out function of electrical while car was running, i turned on headlights, and soon after the car stopped running, no electrical to anything, cleaned the starter solenoid, all connections threads,nuts, washers, cleaned the connection to ground on firewall, new battery, still no juice,it is like the battery is dead but it new and checks out. and also cleaned fuse block, any suggestions to further trouble shoot would be appreciated, went to Hershey swap meet this oct and  bought the factory manual but does not have any technical articles that help in this area. I think you may have accidentally selected the wrong category...so later in my response, I have a couple suggestions that might help you.  

For starters, I have volunteered to answer questions that relate to “Automotive Wooden Interior Trim” - specifically the “Real” wood trim parts found in Jaguars, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Bentleys, BMWs, Jensen Healeys, Austin Healeys, Triumphs - etc. etc. etc.

I do appreciate you asking me a question, however that is NOT in my area expertise.

Should you or any of your fellow automotive enthusiasts have interior wood trim in their vehicles....and IF that wood is having trouble.....I can help.

That being said, I would suggest that you contact the folks at Moss Motors in Goleta California.  They sell MG parts and have done so for many many years....and quite possibly, there are staff there who might be able to help you..based on their experience...or they could direct you to someone who could.

Also for what it is worth, I would think that you might want to search for am MG car club in your area.  Many folks in clubs are very helpful people and may be able to help you find your answer...making a friend or two in that "world" would be very helpful, especially if you are going to do mechanical work yourself.  Who knows, maybe one of those folks has had the same problem or can assist you personally with the answer to your question.
