Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1947 plymouth dashboard problem, braille method, light sockets

Question
i'm trying to find out the easiest way to replace the speedo lite and the gauge lites in my 1947 plymouth special deluxe coupe. there is very limited space under the dash.  does the top of the dashboard come off in any way?    thanks for your help.

Answer
THERE IS NO EASY WAY! Push the sat back as far as it goes and lay on the floor. Reach up with your hand behind the dash and either use a mirror and a flash light or the braille method and locate the light sockets. They snap into the back of the dash panel. The top of the dash does not come off as in a modern car and the instrument cluster is held into the dash panel by fasteners the need to be undone behind the dash.
