Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1940 Plymouth coupe chrome retainer clips, fastener catalog, plymouth coupe

I am restoring a 1940 Plymouth coupe. I am in need of chrome retainer clips for the side chrome strip as well as for the grill.  Do you know of anyplace I can secure them.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Scott

Hello Scott,

Two sources:

1) Check the MOPAR Parts section at Hemmings.com . There are several vendors who sell NOS (New Old Source)parts. They would stock direct replacements although the price may be higher.

2) Check your local automotive paint store with a sample of what you need and ask to see their trim fastener catalog. This is a illustrated catalog with currently produced rim and fender fasteners shown in actual size. Match your old part to the closest new and you should be in business!
