Classic/Antique Car Repair: Hard to start, dodge dart, type of plugs

Question
I have a 64 dodge dart with the 225 engine. Takes a minute or so
to get started, then 5 to 10 minutes to warm up enough to drive
without stalling.

Answer
Hi Louis:
If these are cold weather starts, then it will usually
take a bit to get her started. However, this could be
a sign that a tune-up is needed. Check plugs for fouling
and wear and distributor cap and rotor for wear. If these
items haven't be replaced in a while, its time to replace them.

Also, check the type of plugs you are using. A hotter plug
may be need for your area if the weather us usually cold. Also,
a thinner oil (5W 30) may be needed as well for cold starts.
