1954 car
Can you tell me what make and model of car this might be in the photo? It's hard for me to tell--could it be a Cadillac? The photo was taken in October 1954, if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Sorry, it's not a Caddy but a much more budget offering, a 1954 Ford. The car in the drink was not very old at the time--specifically, it's a 1954 Ford Fordor Sedan, probably a base model called "Mainline" although I can't see enough of it to tell exactly. Damage appears to be minimal so the car probably was pulled out, dried out and went on to live a long life.
Does the car still exist?? If you want to go back to the past, affordable, nice examples can be found today in the $3-6K range.
One last observation, somehow, the pleasant-looking guys on the roof don't appear to be the owners.....
