QuestionI have a 1953 Nash statesman as one of the previous person that ask about the generator,
there's no way to put a 12 volt alternator ,
that's because the water pump is driven by a shaft that runs from the generator ,and no one has made an alternator for these cars. I've tried just about everything,
and the only way is to rewired the generator to 12v.

AnswerIf I was faced with this problem I would fabricate a simple bracket that would mount piggy back style on the existing generator. Then take the brushes out of the generator and use it only as a dummy shaft to power the water pump. I am sorry your e mail did not come through. Mine is geezer34nh@yahoo.com.
