Classic/Antique Car Repair: Rolls Royce horn, light dimmer switch, horn button

Question
I have a shadow II 1980, and the horn does not work. I have checked the fuse,it's OK, all the wires appear to be attached and the horn 'button' depresses fine. Any ideas what else to check?
In addition my panel light dimmer switch moves very smoothly but the lights go from pitch black to the minutest of tiny glows which isn't sufficient to even read the speedo at night. Any clue how to fix this?  Thanks a bundle.

Answer
Hi Paul:
Horns don't normally go bad, but is can happen. However, if
all wires are connected, then you may have a bad contact at
the horn button. Sometimes dirt or just wear can cause the
contact under the button to be bad. Also, make sure the fuse
contacts are firm and clean.
