Classic/Antique Car Repair: 49 F-1, 49 ford, water pumps

Question
QUESTION: I recently purchased a'49 Ford F-1. It supposedly has the original 329 Flathead V-8 in it. The only problem is it has dual water pumps and I don't think this is right? Is it possible? It has 8BA on the top left on the "valve cover" In the glovebox it has 98RC-258658 ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED! Thanks -Rich

ANSWER: 98RC is the proper code for a 1949 F-1 1/2 ton pick up. 8B is the correct code for the 49 V-8 239 Cubic inch flat head V-8 engine and yes it should have 2 water pumps with the generator up over the center of the engine and the distributor on the front right corner of the engine.

QUESTION: Can anyone point me to an accurate picture of what this '49 F-1 should look like? It seems there was different mirror configurations and at one time this one even had a hood ornament? I'm trying to restore to original. Many Thanks-Rich

Answer
This one is as close as any that I have seen except for the color of the bumper and the side view mirror. the bumper should be black and the side view mirror should be a hinge pin.
