Classic/Antique Car Repair: why wont my car start after i rebuilt my carb, carburetor overhaul, overhaul time

I own a 1983 Monte Carlo and it sat for about 2 years, i had it running then I rebuilt my carburetor and I only get it started if i hold down the throttle and prime the carburetor, but if I take my foot off the accelerator it stalls right away, please help me.

Sounds like you might have messed up a bit on the carburetor overhaul. Time to pull it off and do it over again making sure to follow the instructions in the kit and make all the adjustments. Also you should have compressed air to blow out all the jets and passages.
