Classic/Antique Car Repair: 76 450sl alternator, fuel pump, starter motor

Question
will replacing an alternator in a 1976 Mer. 450sl affect the performance of the fuel pump? Specifically if the fuel pump was "noisy" prior to the alternator being replaced?

Answer
by the time a weak or completely dead alternator would affect the fuel pump the cars battery would be so depleted the starter motor would not be able to crank over and start the engine, so i would say that if the car was able to start then the fuel pump would not be affected
