Classic/Antique Car Repair: Banjo Axle ratios, sunbeam alpine, spring perches

Will the Mk1 Ford Capri banjo axle ratio 3.09:1 Crown wheel and pinion fit in my MG B's Banjo axle ?

My interchange manual has no reference for these two. I have no personal experience in this swap, either, so I'm going to say, probably not.

You might, however, want to consider putting the entire Capri rear axle into the MGB. An experienced axle shop can narrow the Capri's housing and shafts, and weld new spring perches onto the housing.

I had this done with my Sunbeam Alpine V6 conversion, and it was bulletproof. Cost was about USD$600.00.
