stater overheats won'start, like a dead battery. also altinater idiot light gets brighter as car revs new alt. batt. starter, and regulater.

Answer
If your idiot light is own, bright or not, your have not resolved your charging issue. Did your reg require 'polarizing". If so it may be wrong for your application.

Does your starter overheat from use or is just the heat shield from the exhaust missing?
