QUESTION: i have a 67galaxie the differential has 10 bolt cover the ring gear measures 8.5" it has 28 spline axles. its a dana/spicer but i cant find someone to tell what it is

ANSWER: What you appear to have is a Ford built 10 bolt (called as such because of the 10 bolts holding the rear cover on) axle. It is also called an intergral type axle because the chuck is not removable and the pinion and bearings must be service in the axle housing.

The first place would be doing the Junk Yard crawl. When I was younger several buddies and I would spend Saturday's not on the golf course but exploring up country junk yards. The most convenient would be to latch on to a copy of Hemmings Motor news, the old car hobbies classified ad bible. www.hemmings.com.
