Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1969 firebird 350 lifters, lifters, compression test

Question
I have a 1969 firebird 350 convertible that has been in the restoration process for some time. it is almost ready to come home except for a very minor problem with the engine I believe.  when test driving it I noticed a problem that originally seemed like a spark plug that just wasn't hitting but now I think it is one of the lifters.  if you could please walk me through the process of replacing them i would be eternally grateful

Answer
Ben, have you done a compression test on the engine? If not do one and then let me know and we will go to the next step. Replacing lifters is a lot of work and if there is nothing wrong with the lifters it is like I said a lot of work and expensive.
