AnswerJust on the limited info, my fire guess would be jumped time. Your timing chain possible is too worn and has slipped on the gears. This is a fairly big repair and you need a 'hands on mechanic' to check.
A ray of good news is the rumbling could be a new hole in the exhaust from the backfiring.
It could also be as simple as bad gas.
