Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1947 international kb2, 5th wheel trailer, trailer brakes

Question
would you know the weight of this vehicle?
even a guess is ok within 1000lbs +-

thankx...need ramps to move it

Answer
I'm really not a truck guy, but I'll make a guess:  The K2 series is a 3/4 ton truck - you don't say what body it has, but I'll assume it is a pickup - if so, it probably weighs between 5000 and 6000 pounds - 5500 pounds would be a good guess.  Around 65% of the weight will be on the front wheels if it is a pickup, so your ramps have to hold around 2000 pounds for each tire as the front rolls up the ramps.

Be sure you tow it with a vehicle that weighs at least that much, or more, and use a load equalizing hitch or a 5th wheel trailer, and make sure your trailer brakes are working well.  When you are towing a heavy vehicle like this, it is an accident waiting to happen, and I have to advise you to hire a flatbed tow truck to move it - it will be a lot safer for you, the truck, your tow vehicle, and the other folks on the road!

(A little free advice you didn't ask for, from someone who has done it both ways, and lived to tell about it, just barely!)
