were can i find the engine codes for a 1970 buick skylark
if it's a real one

Answer
The engine code is stamped on the left cylinder head.  For the 455, the code will be SF, R or S.

To find out if it is the original engine, compare the engine serial number with the serial number of the car, which is on the driver's door hinge post.   Both the code and the serial number are stamped on the left cylinder head.  The 350 engines for that year are stamped SO (2bbl) or SB or P (4bbl).
