Where can I find a repair manual for a 1956 cast powerglide transmission..  I can find parts but cant find a manual.. any help is appreciated..  Thanks...

Your best bet is to contact one of the auto literature dealers - I use Ed Faxon at www.faxonautolit.com, but there are many others.

They will know what you need - which is the factory shop manual for a 1956 Chevrolet.  That will give complete step by step instructions for rebuilding that transmission.

Another possiblity, although I've never tried it with an early Powerglide, is to buy the rebuilding kit from NAPA- if they still have the kit, it probably comes with a rebuilding instruction manual - but check to make sure!
