Question
QUESTION: Parked her in 2000 because after the engine rebuild she would not quit blowing head gaskets, heads, block checked, all o.k. Lawn mower mechanic formerly GM Serv writer told me last yr it was a diesle pump setting that was wrong caused problem, now she needs a complete restore, any advice appreciated

ANSWER: Good morning.
I do not find a listing for a 6.4 liter diesel in your model year. I find a 6.2 with out turbo and a 6.5 liter turbo'd. Let me know. The 6.5 has an F code in the 8th position of the VIN. Let me know the first 10 digits of the VIN.

QUESTION: Sorry 'bout that, 6.2 L diesel

Answer
If you are going to do a complete restore the problem should be corrected in the rebuild. Pay close attention to the warpage of the deck and cylinder head. If you are doing a restore then I would certainly have the injector pump calibrated. The 6.2 liter engine in my opinion is a good engine.
