Classic/Antique Car Repair: Temporary Power Loss, ford mustang, 351 cleveland

Question
I have a 1971 Ford Mustang with a 351 Cleveland, 2bbl. After the vehicle has warmed up it will temporarily fail to accelerate. The engine will usually die. Upon restarting the engine, it will run and accelerate fine for 5-10 minutes, then it will putter out again. It does not have a problem restarting. Plenty of fuel seems to be getting to the carb. I'm stumped. Vacuum? Air? Carb? Fuel?

Answer
FUEL

Check to make sure you are not pulling a vacuum on your gas tank (try running it with cap off).

Verify correct operation of choke.

Fuel filter?

Finally and after the above, check float setting on carb. If set too low, it will do this.
