I am hoping that with all of your knowledge and insight , perhaps, even connections ... you could help me to discover the origins of this engine and who may have information on it. In advance Dick, thank you so much, Marie.

Answer
There is a mistake in your firing order - it has to be 16258374, which is the usual one for an 8 cylinder inline engine.  The engine is a 1935 Oldsmobile engine.  I think you will find that the engine number starts with L35, not L33.

If you have a specific question about it, I will try to answer it for you, but if I just start talking about it, I'll be here all night, and probably never hit on the one fact you are looking for.  So, you ask, I'll answer, if I can.

Dick (feeling well, for an old geezer, thanks.  I hope you are the same - feeling well, that is.)

Dick
