Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1953 Ford marathon information, national auto dealers, national auto dealers association

Question
Hello,
My dad has a 1953 Ford Marathon 4 door car with a flathead 6 cylinder motor in it. It probably needs to be rebuilt, but the rest of the car is all original, untouched.  Where can I find out information about this car and an approxmiate value on it?

Answer
Brenda, I would check the web site for the National Auto Dealers Association www.nada.com. They have a pricing section for older cars, classics, and collectable cars. I have a question, are you sure that the model is Marathon? I worked for Ford as an instructor back in the 1950's and that is a new model to me. Most 6 cylinder cars in that era were Mainline models. Unless my mind has gone south for the winter. Good luck.
