Classic/Antique Car Repair: SB Chevy 350/turbo 400 into 48 Pontiac, sb chevy, chevy 350

Question
Can I? and how hard will it be to find motor mounts etc?  I would like to try to do this without changing a lot of the original suspension as there isn't anything wrong with it.  The straight 8 has a cyl. problem and runs only on 7. Parts for it are scarce..but the 350 a dime a dozen, so to speak. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...TIA

Answer
RC, you are in for a fabrication project. It is not a question of finding motor mounts it is a question of lowering the 350 into the chassis in most cases with the origional motor mounts and the welding in motor mount pads to match. The suspension is not the problem. But drive shaft length, radiator, and other fabrication will be an issue.
