Classic/Antique Car Repair: Starting a car that has sat for 20 years, 1964 ford falcon, wheel bearings

Question
Hi, I may soon become an owner of a 1964 Ford Falcon that has been sitting in a drive way of an old man's CA house for possible over 20 years. The trees had all grown up and the place looked abandoned. I guess he died because now the place has been completely cut back and underneath all the trees was this '64 Flacon station wagon! I put a note under the wiper blade and and another through the mail slot. I hope I get a call. All the tires are flat. What should be the 1st things I do to get this car going if I get it?
Thanks very much!

Answer
For any engine that has set up, this is a good procedure to follow:

Remove all old gas from tank, lines, and carb

Remove the spark plugs and put transmission in park or neutral

Spray a light oil (WD -40 or Marvel Mystery oil ) into each cylinder where the plugs were removed.

Let stand over night if you have queston about it being seized.

Then with either the starter or a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt, turn the engine over until it spins freely.

Check the brake lines for integrety and change all the brake fluid out.

Check and regrease wheel bearings.

Listen when you get car rolling. Sound will tell you a great deal about a car that has set.
