Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1966 Chevy Nova, chevy nova, 1966 chevy nova

Question
We are trying to replace the front brake shoes w/ Duralast #241 shoes.

Once the new shoes are on the drum is so tight the drum won't spin.  

Any ideas?

If you genuinely have the adjuster all the way end, it is sometimes necessary to grind off the very corners of the shoes. Have not had to do that since the 70's, but it was very common back then.

Also, you can have your drums turned so that they are slightly larger.
