Classic/Antique Car Repair: hood latch, 79 camaro, hood latch

Hi,
I am the recent owner of a 79 camaro.But the hood latch is broke nothing I did,came that way.Any advice would be greatly apreciated.Thank you for your time.

You don't say whether your hood won't stay closed, or won't open.

I also don't know whether you have an inside hood release or it is in the front of the car.

How about your giving me some more information - then I'll see if I can come up with a brilliant suggestion for you.

If your hood won't stay shut, DON'T drive it that way - if the safetly catch fails and it pops open while you are moving, you are very likely to have a serious accident, and/or break your windshield!
