Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1970 Mach One wiring, step by step directions, automobile literature

Question
I need a wiring schematic for my '70 Mach One that covers the dash and engine areas. My dash lights "did" work along with my restored rim blown steering wheel. When I looked over the wiring in the engine compartment and under the dash, I am out of my league and it looks very difficult. I could not remove my dash of gauges. The instrument panel did not have the room between the steering column. Do I have to drop the steering column-How? Possibly I could trouble shoot the problems if I had a good wiring diagram. I checked the fuses with my meter under the dash on the left side of the floor board behind the emergency brake. Any suggestions and what am I missing? That area under the dash is very tight to get into!

Answer
You need to obtain the Factory Shop Manual - it will have step by step directions as to how to to anything on the car, including the work you need to do now, and whatever will come up in the future.  It will also have a complete wiring diagram for the whole car.

These run on eBay frequently, or you can contact one of the automobile literature dealers. I use Ed Faxon at www.faxonautolit.com, but there are many others also.  Ed is a good guy and knows what you need.
