Classic/Antique Car Repair: Direction arrows, direction arrows, ed phillips

Question
I installed dir. arr. on my 1929 Model A. I ran two wires to each light going all the way back to the lever in the cab. Can I ground the positive wire to a ground and the neg. wire to the bat. ground. The truck of coarse is a pos. ground system.
Thanks for any help you can give me

Answer
The polarity of the current is not important to the bulbs.  You need to provide both a ground (chassis or body ground) and a "hot" lead to the lights to make them light up.   Your switch has to be wired so that the second wire is connected through the switch to the "hot" terminal of your battery, which is the negative terminal on your car, not the positive terminal, which would just ground both side of the bulb - no current would flow.

I hope this is clear- if not, ask again!
