Classic/Antique Car Repair: Webber carbs. run rich, adjustment screw, mg mgb

Question
I have a 1976 MG MGB it has twin 1 burral carb.(webbers) and it run very rich how do I adjust them so that it will run  well and idle and not die ? it also has very little power and I have been told that it is becouse it runs rich that that happens is this true?

Answer
If it is runing rich at idle the idle micture screw in the mounting flange is the idle mixture adjustment. If it is rich at speed the jets are fixed and must be changed to lean out the mixture. Only other possible is floats are flooding or if it is the kind of Weber that has enrichining device it may have another adjustment screw. Need to know what kind of Weber it is (the number of the carb.)let me know.
