Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1960 Rambler Valve adjustments, kim hi, valve adjustments

Question
Well I have a 1960 Rambler American Super. Its completely stock and I've been working my butt on it. Its got a Flat Head In-Line Six Engine that I just finished painting. So now its bright red. But I have one problem not sure if its huge or not. But its Burning oil alot more than usual. I notice one of the cylinders (Cylinder #6) is all burnt and black, but its still getting spark. And now another cylinder is not getting enough spark (cylinder #4). I know that  its the Valve guides and thats where I need help. I need to atleast find a manuel or if you can send me a "How To" webpage that will help. I went on Fixrambler.com but thats not very helpful and it has nothing about the valve guides. Please Help!!! Thank you
Sincerly

Answer

KIM;
HI  al you have  to do is go to the local library or book store and look in the tech books  and you should find everything that you could ever want on the valves and seals.motor auto repair  and clinton repair books have all that data in them and you can xrox the pages  at the library for your home use.  ok I also recomend that you take a compression test on each   cyld. do it at least twice on each one  ok.
