Classic/Antique Car Repair: Jaguar head sequence & torque specs, torque sequence, jaguar head

Question
I would like to know the torque sequence and specs on a 1959 Jag Mark six cyl.

Answer
Hi Danny,
59 Jag Mk? 6 cyl. All Jags were 6 cyl back then. The mark # does not matter. If the engine is a 3.4 or a 3.8, it does not matter as both torque the same. You start by snuging down all of the chrome head nuts, then start in the middle on one side then the middle of the other side and cross back and forth away from the center until you work your way to each end Do this adding about 5 ft lbs of torque to every nut. Start again in the middle cris crossing with 5 ft lbs more until you reach each end. Keep repeating this until you reach a torque of 54 ft lbs on each nut.
