Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1968 Corvette keeps stalling., 68 corvette, fuel additive

Question
Hi Roger,

I own a '68 corvette. I was having trouble with the car stalling at lower RPM's and hesitating. I replaced the gas tank and fuel filter when I noticed rust glogging the filter. I put fresh gas in and have been running it but it still stalls at lower RPM's along with the hesitation. The car was restored about 5 yrs ago. The carburetor was replaced then as well. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed and what I should look for?

John

Answer
JOHN ;
 Hea - well if you had rust in the line you might have some in the carb. I would re-build it and look for any dirt / rust inside the carb as it could be plugging up the pump. etc. try some fuel additive to the tank and a new fuel filter but you should upen up the carb to be shure there is nothing inside of it and you can also try to adj. the carb and choke that might do it.
