Answer
I already answered this, but the system crashed when I sent it in, so you may get two copies of this.

What I said was, the motor is easy to remove, just take out the two mounting screws and it will pull off the padded fitting that drives the windshield wiper mechanism.

However, I doubt your problem is the motor.   You can run it by turning it on with it out loose in your hand - just ground it to the body and it should run OK.   If it doesn't you need to replace it. The number is 1464883, but I doubt you will find a new one. You may have to settle for a good used part from one of the old car parts dealers.

The real problem is indicated by the "frozen" control cable - you must live in an environment where there is moisture in the air, and your parts are stuck by crud and rust.  Go to your local auto parts store and get a spray can of "PB Blaster"  (Yellow top can) and spray all you can get to with it.  Be sure to follow all the wiper linkage from the motor fitting to the arm pivots and soak it all good.  Also soak the control cable that is stuck.  With the motor off the car, you can manually operate the wiper blades to exercise them and work in the penetrating oil.  Just do that, and keep it up as things free up.  Also, operate the control knob to excercise the cable.  When all seems to work easily, put the motor back on and I'm betting it will all work now.

Good luck!
