Classic/Antique Car Repair: Schematic, vacuum hoses, vacuum line

Question
Dick, I am in desperate need of a vacuum line schematic for my 48 Cadillac 63 series, can you assist me in finding one or who to contact?

Answer
I do not know if the factory shop manual will have this diagram or not, but if it does not, then you will not find one anywhere.

Contact one of the automotive literature dealers (I use Ed Faxon, of Riverside CA) and get yourself a shop manual. You should have one anyway.

It may or may not help you.  If you have extra accessories like the vacuum antenna or the vacuum operatated windshield washer, these probably are not going to be in the manual.

If you get really lucky, the literature dealer may also have the installation flyer for each accessory - that will tell you how the vacuum hoses are routed to the various items.  Otherwise, you are just going to have to dope it out yourself, or find another car which has the same accessories and copy that one.   The actual routing of the hoses doesn't matter, just what is connected to what - the hoses can run all over the place, it won't affect the operation of the wipers or the accessories.

Sorry I can't give you more guidance -

Dick
