Classic/Antique Car Repair: Seat/pedals, congenital problem, short legs

Question
Thanks so much for all your help Dick.
My 64 Pontiac has a bench front seat and 'Armstrong' steering.
I have short legs so I have to push the seat way up to reach the pedals. Then my big belly rubs against the wheel!
I dont suppose there is a way to adjust anything to be more comfortable? The steering column does not adjust.
Thanks!

Answer
No, there is no adjustment that will change the relative position of the steering wheel to the pedals.   The only thing  I can think of off hand is to buy or fabricate some add-on extensions to the pedals.  If you go to a medical supplies store, they may have clamp on pedal extensions - my brother in law has a congenital problem which gives him just about the same situation, and he has his cars fitted with extensions to the brake and accelerator pedals that move them about 2 inches closer to him.

You can raise the seat up by unbolting the track from the floor and installing longer bolts and spacers under it, but that might not help you much.

If you don't want to do that, I guess you'll have to try the same exercise my wife is trying to get me to do - namely push myself away from the table before I eat too much!
