Classic/Antique Car Repair: stalling problem on turns..., buick skylark, best guess

Question
stalling problem on turns and sometimes stops with 66 buick skylark automatic v8.  guess it's the carb float.  idles well--  needle and seat must be ok or it wouldn't. New filter.   flooding or starving?  sloppy float pin-float pivot opening?  Best guess?  Thanks

Answer
My first guess would be that the float level is set too high, so that it's sloshing down the intake through a vent passage.

If you're sure the float level is set right, look for a leaky bowl to air horn gasket, allowing liquid fuel to dump down the barrel when the carburetor is tipped at an angle. You'll have to pull the carb off to test for that, though.

Good luck!
