Classic/Antique Car Repair: High Idle Adjustment, caprice classic, solinoid

Question
I own a 1977 Caprice Classic w/305 V8. At cold start, the electric choke/high idle solinoid engages the high idle cam, but doesn't disengage once the engine is warmed up leaving the engine to idle high. Pulling the power to the solinoid disengages it.

Is the solinoid operating properly?  If so, is there a seperate adjustment for the choke/high idle?

What feeds the solinoid? What's the best way to determine if the soliniod is defective or determine if it's what's sending the power/signal to it?

Thank you.

If I've asked you this before, my apologies; your name does not appear in the reply.

I dont know what it is called it is a sensor   and it sends the juice to the choke , or is there a vacume diaphram next to it. I would run a hand choke to it from under the dash, its cheep and it works great.I did it to my monte carlo when the choke on it was bad..
