Question -
Have you any knowledge of how to reattach the cloth roof upholstery where the glue seems to have broken down allowing the cloth to bag down into the passenger compartment?
Answer -
Yes, I have had to tackle this problem a few times.  I need to know what car we are talking about here, before I try to help you.  There are all kinds of methods of holding up the "headliner" material - I need to know what kind you have.

Post a follow up question and I'll try to help.

Answer
OK, thanks.

These cars had a foam backed headliner which falls down because the foam backing has lost it's plasticizer due to age and heat, and there is no way to restore the headliner other than to have the old one completely removed, then scrape all the old remaining deteriorated foam and glue off the backing surface, then replace with a new headliner, using the special glue made for this purpose. Any other "cure" will result in the headliner coming down around your shoulders again, sooner than you think!   My advice is to take the car to an auto upholstery shop and have the headliner replaced.  They do this all the time, and the cost will be less than $200.  This is a dirty, hard job, working over your head with stuff raining down in your eyes - it's better to let the pros do it!
