Classic/Antique Car Repair: HEADERS, rusted bolts, blind holes

Question
Hi;
   I have a question regarding my 1976 Chevrolet Nova with the 305 motor.I would love to have a true dual exhaust but from the original cast iron manifold.I know that i should get after market manifolds but that seems too involving.What i want to do is disconnect the oem y pipe, cat and so on.The question that i have is regarding those bolts in the oem iron manifold,they are rusty and thin really thin from all these years.How does one remove those bolts from the blind holes without breakage and while the manifolds are still attached to the motor?
                             Thank you

Answer
HI Tom,
      Headers is the only way that I would go. As far as the rusted bolts, It is a pain in the -- but it comes with the age of the car. I would first try to lube them up with a
rust loosening oil and try that and if no-good than some heat  and if still no good cut them off with a torch.
   That is why thay make easy outs and all of the weird looking tools used to remove broken and striped nut and bolts.If the head breaks off the bolt you will get it after when you remove the manifold than use a vicegrip to unscrew it.Lube them up real good. ok
