Classic/Antique Car Repair: hot coil, 1970 dodge challenger, dodge challenger


Question
i have a 1970 dodge challenger have a problem with the coil getting hot and shutting engine down.have repaced coil also have relocated it to a cooler spot still havibg same prob. can u help thanks

          Wow thats not good, did you change the distributor ? or is there any wire shorting out ? and did you replace the plugs with  a differnt type. or did you change the plug wires ,I would lift the hood in a real dark place and look for any sparks first . thats the easy way than start checking for a grounded wire or a short . ok
