Question
hi hi my car a 69 chevy ss 396 is running hot and I had seen where a person has asked you about the thermastat and he said it will do damage to the engine - is that true as I was told you can remove it or use a lower sixe one, can I do so.
thank you   BuBBa

Answer
Hea  Bub,
Yes you can run with out a thermastat in that car , do not worry. As far as the person that said it would hurt the engine I think he was miss-informed you can run  any  chevy v-8 or other v-8 from the 70s and down and it will not hurt it at all, it can give you less heat in the winter time and it can take longer to warm it up but thats about it.So do not listen to a lot of know it alls , as us people here we do not get paid for any of this it is all for free so I get nothing for telling you  true or false all I get is the score that you give to me. OK thanks and good luck Bubba
