Seems none of the auto parts stores carries a hose that comes even close to looking like the one I had on.  The other day the fan nicked a hole in the old one.  Is there another, besides the expensive chrome flex hoses, that will fit my truck?
Answer -
You didn't tell me, so I'm going to have to guess:  If your truck has the 302 V8, is 2 WD, has an automatic transmission, and does not have AC, the upper hose is in stock at AutoZone.  The number is L-906.  If they don't have that one in stock the Goodyear 60419 will also fit.  Either one will have to be cut to fit (it is too long).

If you have one of the other 5 engines, or it is 3 speed or 4 speed manual transmission, or it is 4 WD, or has AC, post a follow up question with complete information for me and I'll try to find one for you.

This truck has a 460 cid 2 WD auto.tranny and AC was completely taken out.  Thanks for your response and assitance!

Answer
Wow, a 460 in a F-100?   If it came from the factory that way, it is one of very few (less than 0.01%!).  If it is all factory equipped, though, the upper hose would be a Kelly-Springfield #1317 at Auto-Zone.    The Goodyear 61041 would also fit - and should be available through Auto-Zone or NAPA stores.

If the truck has other than factory equipment in it, though, either because someone has switched engines or due to taking the AC out, you'll have to take the old hose in to a friendly auto-parts store of the old fashioned variety - with grumpy gray haired guys behind the counter (usually one that advertises "machine shop available" is one of these), and talk the counter dweeb into letting you walk through the hanging racks looking for something that can be adapted to fit.  I've fit everything from 1920's Packards to Hubmobiles this way, when if I asked at the counter for a part, they would have thought I was a visitor from Mars!    "Packard?   Was that made by Plymouth?"

Good luck, and keep your foot out of that monster - with just a PU body on the back, you have too little rear wheel traction to handle all that engine - it will swap ends in the blink of an eye!
